Winchester Silver Program

At Winchester we have a heavy emphasis on how our cattle perform for commercial programs. Winchester monitors the performance of our stock both “in house” in our Angus commercial cow herd and in existing clients herds. Traits such as birth weight, weaning weight, $/head comparisons and market acceptance are closely followed.

Winchester can assist in the marketing of these lines to processors. We like to track the feed conversion ratios of our genetics so that we can make breeding selections based on accumulated data from clients.

We have found that ease of management eg: lower birth/ almost no calving assistance has been a consistent trend with Winchester stock. This combined with comparative or heavier weaning/ selling weights have given Winchester clients a valuable gain in dollar and time spent delivering an overall improved “Bottom Line”.

We have also drawn the conclusion from data collated that our stock reach finished condition faster and therefore offer a greater return in shorter periods. Making them easier to fit to target markets or seasonal changes.
